For anyone who wishes to take their first dip in the sea, increase their sea swimming confidence, or improve their stroke either for fitness or a specific event with an STA qualified Open Water Swimming Coach.

Introduction to Sea Swimming

  • Swimming in the sea is very different to swimming in a lido, lake or river. Let us take you through the basics, answer any questions you may have about sea swimming and set you off on your sea swimming journey with confidence.
  • Learn about sea safety including sharing the sea with other users, tides and currents, effects of wind direction, obstacles in the water, marine life, beach profiles and local information.

Acclimatisation to cold water – these run from Nov to May – please ask for details

  • Introduction to Sea swimming plus understanding your body and how it reacts, cold water shock, hypothermia. Cold water swimming is an extreme sport. We’ll take you through what to wear, how to get used to cold safely, the dangers of cold water shock and hypothermia. We’ll also send you home with a big smile on your face and a new healthy addiction.

Building confidence in the water – 6 weeks

  • Are you fearful of the sea? Have you had a bad experience that puts you off sea swimming? Do you wish you could swim a bit further? Book this 6 week course with our STA qualified coaches

Swimming Technique / Coaching

  • Qualified STA open water swimming coaches can help you to improve your technique, prepare for an event and unlock your potential. This can be done on a 1 : 1 basis or in small group.

Couch to 5K

  • Build up to longer distances with some simple and based exercises and swims
